Vou ali à loja dos chineses mais próxima porque... o Natal ( ou pelo menos os enfeites doirados e as confetis) está por todo o lado, mesmo que seja Fevereiro e o Cranaval exploda no Brasil. Em Londres o anos 70 da febre do disco colide com pêlo psicadélico, ursos e patas de tigre. Gente isto é só a Meafham Kirchhoff aquecendo as coisas à loucura!
Uma explosão de brilho, cor, lantejoulas e spary neon energizando Londres no desfile de Kirchhoff. E se fechares os olhos talvez julgues estar nas quentes ruas do Rio e não na fashion week na neblina gelada em Londres. Mas, é também a sexta à noite dentro de uma máquina do tempo a caminho de um nightclub londrino dos anos 70, onde toca sem cessar os irmãos Gibb e You light up my life de Debby Boone.
Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff went to1970s fashion archives which began with a continuation of the mini skirts, bell-bottoms and the androgynous hippie look from the late 1960s, was soon sharply characterized by several distinct fashion trends that have left an indelible image of the decade commemorated in popular culture. These include platform shoes which appeared on the fashion scene in 1971 and often had soles two to four inches thick. Both men and women wore them. Wide-legged, flared jeans and trousers were another fashion mainstay for both sexes throughout most of the decade, and this style has been immortalised in the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever, which starred John Travolta. The "disco look", complete with three-piece suits for men and rayon or jersey wrap dresses for women, which the film further popularized.A little of everything of this mixed and kitsch-ized it was the Meadham Kirchhoff fall/winter 2012-13 collection.
Edward Meadham e Benjamin Kirchhoff foram ao arquivo da moda dos anos 70 que começa com a continuação da mini-saia, boca-de-sino e o look andrógimo dos finais dos anos 60, e que evoluiu por várias tendências que deixaram uma imagem indelével da década na cultura popular. Onde se incluiem os sapatos com plataformas brutais, usados tanto por homens como por mulheres, que aparecerem em cena em 1971 com solas de 15 centimetros e mais. Jeans largos a terminarem em boca-de-sino foi outra das tendencias indissociaveis desta época inseparaveis do armário tanto masculino como feminino, estilo imortalizado por filmes como o Taxi Driver e Saturday Night Fever com John Travolta. O look disco era, assim, completado por fatos para homem e vestidos de nylon e jersey para as mulheres. Um pouco disto tudo, misturado e kitsch-izado e eis a colecção para o próximo Outono de MK.
London is such an eclectic and unpredictable place. This is reflected in the way people present themselves and in the broad spectrum of designers that the city produces, and Edward and Benjamin, the two guys behind the label, have quite a big London soul, and an obsession with Courtney Love.
London é um lugar impressionante, eclético e imprevisivel e isso reflecte-se na forma como as pessoas se apresentam e no enorme espectro de designers que a cidade produz. Em mais nenhum outro lugar temos um leque tão variado de estilos numa mesma semana. Edward e Benjamin, os criativos por detrás da marca que lhes junta os apelidos, têm esse ecletismo da alma londrina e, ainda, a enorme obsessão de ambos os criadores por Courtney Love.
The show was a parade of arty Monster-fabulous outfits that strode down the catwalk. Trousers made of tinsel tiers, Americana denim covered with retro transfers and Breakfast Club badges, girly knits with Barbie badges strewn across them, chiffon baby dolls and enormous shaggy furs in acid-bright hues. Everything too much , more is more... included the must-have sparkling Victorian style platforms shoes made for the dance floor all night long.
O show foi um desfile de autênticos outfits, artisticamente, montro-fabulosos. Calças feitas de lantejoulas, jeans americano-style coberto com decalques retro e crachás tipo breakfast club, collants girly com baby dolls de chiffon dignos de uma Barbie transportada directamente de um cenário disco-dancing, e para aquecer enormes casacos de pêlo em tons acido-brilhantes. Tudo excessivo, tudo more-is-more... incluindo os sapatos brilhantes estilo vitorinano em plataforma, feitos para dançar toda a noite.
