I really loved the Alexandra Moura's collection for Spring Summer 2011. It was an interesting mix of the Past by the use of the retro 60's silhouette, and the Future - the cosmic prints and the oversize glasses, which gave a sci-fi sense to all the collection.
Adorei a colecção Primavera/Verão de Alexandra Moura. A designer faz uma interacção conceptual muito interessante entre o Passado, através da silhueta retro inspirada nos anos 60, e o futuro, pelo uso dos estampados cósmicos e dos óculos oversize, elemnetos que vão dar uma conexão e unidade a toda a colecção, lembrando o universo da ficção cientifica.

Fashion Heroines talked with Alexandra Moura about her Spring / Summer 2011 collection which the Portuguese designer showed today in the Lisbon fashion week. Read the exclusive interview!
A propósito da colecção Primavera/Verão 2011 que Alexandra Moura apresentará na semana da moda de Lisboa, o Fashion Heroines falou com a designer sobre as suas inspirações e aspirações. Lê a entrevista exclusiva!
FashionHeroines: What's the SS 2011 collection's theme?
Qual o tema desta sua colecção Primavera/Verão 2011?
Alexandra Moura: The collection's name is "Micro Look".
O tema da colecção é "Micro-olhar".
FH: What were the sources of the inspiration?
Quais foram as suas fontes de inspiração para criar esta nova colecção?
AM: The main inspirations were images of microstructure of Prehistoric metals: Late Bronze Age that comprises approximately between 1300-700 BCE, corresponds to the transition from the 2nd to the 1st millennium BC) found in Portuguese territory. And the 60 ' s.
The contemplation of these microstructure of prehistoric metals makes us to move past worlds, forgotten lives, ancient knowledge ...
Other planets, other beings ... Beings that inhabit our subconscious and they become alive ... Suddenly, by the action of a time machine to transport us to the 60's. Through their patterns and silhouettes, and then the time machine makes us jumping straight into a future also quite distant.
The creation of new textures and new images by current technologies, make the tone of this collection.
As principais inspirações foram: imagens de Microestruturas de metais Pré-Históricos (Época: Idade do Bronze Final se compreende aproximadamente entre 1300-700 a.C., corresponde à transição do 2º para o 1º milénio a.C.) encontrados em território Português, e os anos 60´s.
A contemplação destas microestruturas de metais pré-históricos faz-nos transportar para mundos passados, vidas esquecidas, saberes antigos...
Outros planetas, outros seres... Seres que habitam o nosso subconsciente e que vão ganhando vida... E assim, subitamente, como que por acção de uma máquina do tempo, nos transportam até aos anos 60 do séc. XX através dos seus padrões e silhuetas, e daí talvez nos façam saltar directamente para um futuro também ele bastante longínquo.
A criação de novas texturas e novas imagens pelas tecnologias actuais, fazem o mote desta colecção.
FH: What are the must-have pieces of your collection which will be part of the women wardrobe next Spring?
Quais as peças must-have da sua colecção que elegeria para integrar o guarda-roupa feminino no próximo Verão?
AM: The jackets and the dresses ( micro and maxi).
Os casacos e os vestidos(quer os Micro, quer os Macro)
