Once more the recent past was revisited by a big fashion house. This time was Balenciaga designer, Nicolas Ghesquière who brought back the feel of the 80s in his fall/winter 2012-13 collection presented at Paris Fashion Week. The entire collection is about the classic lines that were re-created with a modern twist. The pallette in various colors like electric blue, pink powder, yellow, red and black gave to the entire collection a very young mood, for these modern uptown girls who love the classics, elegant and chic garments. But Nicolas Ghesquiére gave us also an experimental fashion side with his new silhouettes with exaggerated proportions, the leather coats with big shoulders, sculptural padded sweaters over stiff A-line skirts with doubled front panels... and the fabric research that is a must in Ghesquiére's work as the kind of hi-tech parachute material from the jumpsuits. Certainly a collection to executive daring girls who love breaking borders.
