MODALISBOA/LISBON FASHION WEEK - LUIS BUCHINHO FALL/WINTER 2012-13

This was undoubtedly the most anticipated show this 1st day of MODALISBOA's fashion shows  and the room was crowded with VIPs, media, fashionists, bloggers and so on. The Luis Buchinho's work is always dominated by the sophistication with sportswear and tailoring inspirations, a mixture that is already the great statement  of the Portuguese designer, one of my favorites. This collection is based on the magnificent Portuguese street's pavement. Luis Buchinho is adept of fetching elements of  Portuguese art and culture and debug them in undulating silhouettes that are nothing less than stylized mermaids. Luis Buchinho took in the distinct elements of the streets' pavement from Portuguese cities which have a great geometric and graphic interest, drawing lines on the floors, and created something to elongated the silhouette by geometrical details and mix of textures that give a three dimensional effect to the clothing. I LOVED the long dresses that cover the line of the body naturally in an impossible elegant trio tones black, dark blue and nude. But I can see myself wearing also like the tubular mini and maxi dresses that emphasize the narrow waist, cigarette pants, and three quarters jackets inspired in the masculine tailoring. How do not like the clothes that favors the figure, while comfort, easy stylish and so wearable, a trilogy that is rare to be present in one garment only. A glamor apparently stripped and transfigured in a very sexy-chic style for the woman who rejects everything that is too obvious.
