MODALISBOA/ LISBON FASHION WEEK: MIGUEL VIEIRA FW 12-13

Miguel Vieira decided to wear the Fado music with his collection for next winter, paying a full tribute plenty of emotion to the Portuguese soul that has a voice - The Fado which was recently raised to Heritage of the Humanity by the UNESCO. Are you taken part of those who think that the Fado song could never be used as a fashion show's soundtrack? You are so wrong because it was perfect. And even better, Miguel Vieira decided to highlight the new generation of Fado singers that make the bridge between ancient and modern, traditional and its re-interpretation, as does Mariza and many others. So did Miguel Vieira too. His collection is a re-creation of the old and the result was pieces with a retro-modern flavor. Luxury and sophistication are part of Miguel Vieira's DNA, who loves to use rich materials and fur in decadent coats, details on sleeves, dresses and skirts. I loved the man's shirts with the profile of Amalia and Carlos Paredes printing on the back. The feminine hourglass silhouette dominated the collection while tailoring dressed the boys with contemporary notes and overlapping textures that make the likes trendy. Skirts with fringe retro-styled the 20's give a dynamic and glamorous touch to the female wardrobe and are an elegant variant of the pencil skirts made for dancing or dressing a Fado singer. Why not?
