Candy is the name of the latest Prada's fragrance and also the name of Maria Gambina's Spring 2012 collection. But the "Candy" that inspired the Portuguese designer was the HARD CANDY of Ned Doheny's album. Doesn't matter because Gambina's collection reminded me Prada style, that kind of candy that a sweet girl would like to wear in a Spring afternoon to look the poetry of the sunset. Maybe was the false pleated, the asymmetric cuts or the softeness of the colour pallet: white, cream whites, camel, and skin tones, the light prints mixed with the fluorescent pink, hard pink to give that kind of candy edge.
I loved this sweetness played with clean silhouettes to a very relax attitude (what is ok in the menswear's style) and the use of technical fabrics as latex and sequins to balance the casual thing that defined the entire collection.

Candy é o nome do perfume da Prada, recentemente lançado, e tem em comum o nome da colecção para a próxima Primavera/Verão da Maria Gambina. Mas, o "Candy" que inspirou a designer portuguesa tem a ver com HARD CANDY do album de Ned Doheny. Não tem importância porque este desfile lembrou-me um pouco da irreverencia clássica e ao mesmo tempo "corta-tendências- e-cria- novas" tão ao jeito de Miuccia Prada. A doce rapariga de Maria Gambina adora vestir-se de uma forma muito cool para assistir, poeticamente, ao por de sol de um fim de tarde primaveril. Talvez tenha sido a palete de cores neutras e muito soft com os brancos, chantilly, camel e variantes do tom de pele, senão eis que explonde o rosa shock (candy), ou os falsos plissados e os cortes assimétricos, um facto é que este desfile me deu momentos de real calma no meio da barafunda caotica dos bastidores da Modalisboa e arredores. Uma nota para as peças de mangas looongaaaas que me fizeram lembrar outro desfile internacional ocorrido há pouco tempo, adivinham?
