We all know how difficult to do something that we had never seen before, the effect that something almost "new" has is more than surprise, it is a truly shot of inspiration, isn't it? So, that's what happened to me when I first saw this Alexander Wang's collection Fall 2010, presented today in the New York Fashion Week. The work that Wang did with the tuxedo jacket with puffer sleeves were amazing! But there is more, much more, the bomber jacket-turned-poncho, boyfriend blazer-turned-fur coat, the mink-wrapped sunglasses and boudoir bobbles on high-shine metallic loafers... and so on. How is possible joking with the fur-mania, to do oversized jackets and bomber jackets, heavy-ribbed knits paired with glitter drainpipe jeans and everything looks so great! I don't know but I am not a designer, of course not!

É bem sabido como tão dificil é fazer algo que pareça absolutamente novo e que nos pareça que ainda não foi visto antes, o efeito de algo que nos pareça novo (ainda que não seja totalmente - de facto não sei se isso ainda é possível), é como se tivessemos tomado um shot de inspiração. Foi o que me aconteceu quando vi a nova colecçao de Alexander Wang Outono 2011, apresentada hoje em Nova Iorque. O trabalho que Alexander Wang fez com o casaco de smoking, aplicando-lhe mangas de efeito puff foi exctraordinário do meu ponto de vista. Mas, há muito mais nesta fantástica e bem humorada colecção: O blusão "bomber" transformado em poncho, o blazer boyfriend tornado casaco de pelo, os óculos de sol com aplicações de pelo, os chinelos de boudoir sados como sandálias, os sapatos de brilho metálico em cores inusitadas, etc. Como é possível brincar com a mania-do-pelo, fazer casacos oversize, malhas caneladas pesadonas combinadas com jeans brilhantes ao bom estilo retro de Billie Jean e parecer tudo tão bem e perfeitamente coordenado e cool? Bem, mas, eu também não sou uma fashion designer, pelo que não posso responder a esta pergunta!
