As I promised you I went to the MUDE - Fashion and Design Museum, in Lisbon, to see the Jose António Tenente Exhibition " Signed by Tenente". This exposition has two sections, the 1st of which is part of the permanent exhibition, while the 2nd section is on the 2nd floor of the museum.
The Signed by Tenente project started when the designer José António Tenente was invited to commission the exhibition, and in which the creator offers his perspective of the MUDE’s collection and, in particular, of Francisco Capelo’s Fashion Collection.
About the exhibition Jose Antonio Tenente said: " Starting with Bárbara Coutinho’s proposal to disclose my creative process, and given the exciting possibility of being able to relate with the universe of MUDE’s fashion collection, it seemed inevitable to me that I should focus on fashion references, one of the important components of my work method, and which, forming part of a whole, appeal directly or indirectly to other areas of art.”
Until the 30th of January 2011, on floors 0 and 2 of the MUDE, we will have the great opportunity to come into contact with José António Tenente’s universe and creative process, besides gaining another perspective and interpretation of the MUDE’s own collection.
During the 2nd edition of this creative lab, the following events will also take place in the MUDE:
25 November
19h
Launch of the object-book on the creative process, presented by Bárbara Coutinho and Anabela Mota Ribeiro
27 January
19h
Presentation of José António Tenente’s 2011 Spring Summer Collection
