Today from the city of light Felipe Oliveira Baptista, a young Portuguese designer who was recently tapped by French sportswear giant Lacost, showed his own womenswear collection for Spring/Summer 2011. All eyes were open for one of the most waiting fashion show of Paris fashion week.
I really loved Baptista's retro-futuristic silhouettes _ second-skin leotards with lozenge-shaped cutouts and sheath dresses with scythe-shaped appliques looked like cool, self-aware takes on Cardin's staples.
Felipe Oliveira Baptista, with this Spring/Summer 2011 collection displays how convinced his work is right now and his womenswear collection, plenty of sporty-chic vibes mixed with futuristic shapes, can be a preview what would be his work under the label Lacoste. He is definitely in the mood!
