MODALISBOA/LISBON FASHION WEEK - DINO ALVES FALL/WINTER 2012-13

Dino Alves tem sempre performances muito interessantes que vão muito para além de um desfile para meramente mostrar roupa. Desta vez foi "A sombra brilhante" que o designer português quis representar na passerelle o que em principio parece uma contradição nos próprios termos. Mas, como Dino Alves refere na press release, só no ocidente a sombra é conotada negativamente, como algo obscuro e até doentio. Já na cultura oriental a sombra é vista como algo de positivo e uma outra forma de luz. Assim, o desfile começou com as modelos subindo por uam escada, elevando-se muito acima da passerelle, cobrindo o corpo de efeitos de luz/sombra num jogo de sedutoras contradições. Essa dualidade, mais até que contradição, uma vez que a sombra e a luz são complementares e não que opostas, é que inspira toda a colecção, designadamente, na palete de cores utilizada - cinza, preto, branco, degradé. Num efeito visual bastante interessante  as cores neutras são contrastadas com os prints estampados vibrantes dourado, vermelho, amarelo e beringela.  A silhueta é longilínea e justa revelando subtilmente o corpo, mas, ao mesmo tempo curta e oversize nesse mesmo jogo de contrastes. Como tem sido habitual nos defiles nacionais, os acessórios não primam por aparecer, o que na minha opinião é uma lacuna injustificável, uma vez que quer os sapatos quer marroquinaria têm tido um boom de criatividade em Portugal e um crescendo número de designers com marcas próprias com bastante sucesso quer no mercado nacional quer lá fora. Felizmente, Dino Alves tem sido a excepção no que se refere ao calçado, com a apresentação da colecção Nike id by Dino Alves.

Dino Alves has always very interesting performances that go far beyond merely a fashion show to display clothes. This time was the "bright shade"which inspired the Portuguese that seems at first sight a contradiction in terms. But as Dino Alves stated in his press release, only in the West the shadow is labeled negatively, as something obscure and even unhealthy. In the East culture, the shadow is seen as something positive and another form of light. Thus, the show began with the models climbing a pair of stairs, rising high above the runway, covering the body from the effects of light / shadow playing in seductive contradictions. This duality because the shadow and light are complementary rather than opposite, is what inspires the entire collection, in particular,  the use of the color palette - gray, black, white, gradient. In a very interesting visual effect, the neutral colors are contrasted with the vibrant prints embossed gold, red, yellow and aubergine. The silhouette elongated the body, but at the same time oversize in the same game of contrasts. As usual in the Portuguese fashion shows, the accessories don't make an important role, which in my opinion is unjustifiable, because we have great shoes, bags, and leather goods which have a boom of creativity in Portugal and a growing number of designers with their own brands quite successfully in the market either domestically or abroad. Fortunately, Dino Alves is the exception, the footwear presented in the catwalk was from of the Nike id by Dino Alves collection.
