fashion heroines: INSPIRATION: SUMMER STYLE

Adoro passear pela Baixa de Lisboa e Chiado e ficar a observar as pessoas e o que de especial consigo captar em cada uma dessas pessoa que observo. Como é que elas adaptam ao seu estilo as tendências da moda e as interpretam ou se só se limitam a copiar o que vêem nas revistas, nos blogues e nas montras? A moda que adoptamos (ou não) é a forma mais intima e pessoal de manifestação da nossa personalidade, é a exteriorização daquilo que somos e da forma que queremos que os outros nos vejam.

I love to walk in Lisbon downtown and Chiado looking people and the special "something" I can capture in each person that I see. How do they adapt and interpret the fashion trends to their own style or if they just copy what they saw in magazines, on blogs and in shop windows? Personal fashion is the most intimate expression of our personality, it is the manifestation of who we are and how we want others to see us.

O que de imediato salta à vista quando andamos pelas ruas centrais de Lisboa é que este verão as mulheres de todas as idades e estilos renderam-se definitivamente aos chapéus, sobretudo Fedora e aqueles de abas redondas popularizados pelo filme Taxi Driver e que associamos aos anos 70 e ao boho style. É também uma forma rápida de assimilar a tendência de acrescentar algo masculino a um look feminino dandy.

What immediately stands out when we walk through the Lisbon's streets this summer is that women of all ages and styles finally surrendered to hats, especially those of Fedora and the ones with large round tabs popularized by the film Taxi Driver that we associate with the 70's bohemian style. It's also a quickly way to join some male accessory to a female dandy look.

E a prova de que o estilo pessoal não tem que ver com idade, mas, é algo inato como outro talento qualquer, é o facto de se verem crianças bem pequenas que já se distinguem por uma forma muito própria...

To proof that personal style has nothing to do with age, but it is an innate talent, there are young children who have already distinguished by its own way ...in fashion.

Os adereços no cabelo, e sobretudo flores, pode ser um só um mero detalhe, mas, que acaba por chamar a atenção, ainda que na minha opinião só fique bem a pessoas muito jovens e com cabelo bonito.

The hair's accessories, and especially flowers, may be just a minor detail, but they can turn out our attention in the most simple look, though, in my opinion, it just looks well in the younger with beautiful hair

Outra coisa que mais me chamou a atenção na minha excursão pelo street style lisboeta foi que muita gente adopta o boho style na estação quente, talvez porque seja confortável, fresco e fácil de usar. Os vestidos e saias compridas têm uma popularidade crescente.

Another thing that struck me on my street style tour in Lisbon: a lot of people prefer the boho style in the hot season, perhaps because it is comfortable, cool and easy to use. Long dresses and long skirts have a growing popularity.

E os padrões florais estão aí em força combinados com as sandálias rasas sob o céu impossivelmente azul...

And the flower prints are here mixed with flat sandals under the blue hot sky...

E por falar em sandálias, talvez seja pela dificuldade em andar na calçada portuguesa com saltos, um facto é que os modelos rasos dominam as ruas, e mesmo as sandálias de cunha (ou anabela para os brasileiros) que são mais confortáveis, perdem pontos perantes as rasteiras que em meu entender por mais frescas e bonitas que sejam fazem perder muito a elegância. As prateadas são giras e ficam bem com o estilo boho chic.

Speaking of shoes, perhaps the difficulty of walking on the Portuguese street pavement with heels, the women prefer flat models, and even wedges (or anabela for Brazilians) that are more comfortable, lose points before the flat ones, but I believe that heels are so much fancy. The silver flats are nice and go well with the boho chic style.

A febre das socas parece que finalmente está a abrandar e tal como todas as peças muito datadas e fashion acabam por cansar ao fim de uma ou duas estações, por isso prefiro não investir neste tipo de peças quando o meu budget é limitado. Todavia, ainda, se vão encontrando por aí... e achei esta mistura original e improvável, socas combinadas com um vestido algo lady like.

The clog's fever is finally slowing down! Clogs are so dated that I'm a little tired of them after a season or two, it's why I prefer do not invest in this fashion pieces if my budget is limited. However, we can find some clogs walking in the streets ... and I found this unique mix, combined with a lady like dress... is unusual and quite interesting.

E depois há aquelas pessoas que nem querem saber de tendências e seguem um estilo definido para a tribo a que pertencem como é o caso dos motards e afins...

There are those people who fashion trends means nothing and they are suppose to follow only the style defined for the tribe to which they belong such as the bikers and alike ..

Outra tendência que vai resistindo com alguma persistência e é transversal às estações é o padrão animal...e aqui e ali lá vai ele aparecendo em detalhes e acessórios.

Another trend that resists and are crossing seasons is the animal print that we can see here and there, appearing in details and accessories.

O crochet é uma tendência que vai aparecendo timidamente,provavelmente porque não fica bem a toda a gente, mas, só às geneticamente brindadas com corpos esguios e magros, o crochet e malhas não está nada para as curvas!!!

The crochet is a trend that is appearing in a shy way , probably because it isn't an easy trend, but only to genetically toasted with slender and thin bodies, in fact crochet and knitting don't match with curves!

É claro que no meio do povo as fashion victims conhecem-se à distância... mais que não seja pelo numero de sacos de lojas que carregam.

Of course that I can see fashion victims when I found one, mainly because of the number of shopping bags that they carry on.

E depois à aquelas pessoas que me chamam a atenção não pelo que vestem ou acessórios que eventualmente usem, mas, pela atitude cool que as define... e essas estão sempre na moda! Estes são os meus Fashion Heroes/Heroines.

There are people that caught my attention not because what they wear but by the attitude that defines the cool thing ... and these people are always in fashion! These are really my Fashion Heroes / Heroines.
