PARIS FASHION WEEK: COMME DES GARÇONS FALL/WINTER 2011.12

Rei Kawabuko is not defined by other people definitions! The designer genially (but not naively) deconstructed collections to give us another kind of constructiveness! What relatively seems normal from the front, if you look back when the models turned... you are surprised by backless or anything else! The same effect was worked in reverse with back-only macs and overcoats, ribbon-tied in the front over the same combination of sheer, with black bloomers. The method worked cleverly, too, with one-sided jackets, generally with one bunched-up sleeve. It's the Comme des Garçons' universe: everything upside down, asymmetric and luxury without lust. Very interesting how Rei moved into prints with her vintage scarves collection that the designer has amassed over 40 years. Nothing too obvious, nothing too easy, but the conceptual magician Kawabuko can always surprising her fans, even if Comme des Garçons got gold in the end when all the models returned in a blaze of gold, matching the gold curlicued helmets they had worn throughout the show. "The new colour... gold" said Rei... and I have no doubt that it will be happened!

Rei Kawabuko não pode ser definida pela definição das outras pessoas! A designer genialmente (mas, não ingenuamente) desconstrói uma colecção para nos dar uma outra espécie de construtividade. O que aparentemente parece normal visto de frente, se olharmos quando as modelos se viram... eis a surpresa das costas (semi)nuas ou uqalquer outro detalhe que nos deixa de boca aberta. O mesmo efeito mas no inverso com casacos que só têm costas numa combinação de transparências e opacidades. É o universo de Comme des Garçons: Por vezes tudo parece de pernas para o ar e quase sempre parece o que não é, num jogo permanente de assimetrias e luxo sem pitada de luxúria. Muito interessante também a interpretação de Kawakubo no que se refere a estampagens com a sua colecção de lenços vintage que a criadora recolheu ao longo de 40 anos. Nada demasiado óbvio, nada demasiado fácil, mas, a magia conceptual de Rei sempre capaz de surpreender os seus fans. Mesmo quando o desfile parece ter acabado, mas, as luzes se acendem novamente para a entrada das modelos com os seus capacetes doirados que usaram ao longo do desfile, a combinar com fatos dourados em total look. " A nova cor vai ser o dourado" disse Kawakubo... e eu nem sequer tenho dúvidas que o irá ser num futuro próximo.
