Last sunday I went to a great art gallery named COLORIDA located by the Castle of S. Jorge in the beautiful old centre of Lisbon. The Gallery invited me to a photography exhibition launched there. I love its open space in a very old building with more than 150 years old. Its Brazilian owners Rosemary and Roberto are very nice. They promoted a conceptual concern with a high visual approach and through its exhibitions they showcase the work of both, established and emerging younger artists from all around the world covering a broad sepctrum including painting, works on paper, sculpture, object design, ceramic art and photography.
No Domingo passado conheci uma fantástica galeria de arte "COLORIDA", localizada perto do Castelo de S. Jorge, no bonito e antigo Centro histórico de Lisboa, num edifício espectacular open space com mais de 150 anos. A Galeria COLORIDA convidou-me para assistir à inauguração de uma exposição de fotografia, entre outras de pintura que foram também inauguradas nesse mesmo dia. Os seus donos, os brasileiros Rosemary e Roberto trocaram o cosmopolitismo de S.Paulo pela calma e óptimo clima de Portugal e aqui se estabeleceram para mostrar o trabalho de artistas consagrados ou jovens talentos de todo o mundo, nas diferentes áreas visuais incluindo a pintura, artwork, escultura, objectos de design, arte cerâmica e fotografia.

I really loved the photography exhibition " Music of the Spheres" by the young British photographer Brighitta Moser. Her work reminds me dreams' balance, peace and beautiful inner music from our soul. Another exhibition I also loved very much, launched in the same space of the gallery was the painting of Brazilian artist Marcio Tuller titled " Dream in Color", and it was the brightness of the colors from Tuller's work that I felt in love with. His paintings have the naive beauty of our childhood that remains in our adult age. The tenderness of his work make me happy and optimist and perhaps it make me find in me the child I was once who dreamed in colors and playing against black and white as only sides of life. Life is full of colors and Marcio Tuller reminds us that!

Adorei a exposição "Musica das Esferas" da jovem artista britânica Brighitta Moser. O seu trabalho inspira-me o equilíbrio dos sonhos, apaziguamento e a nossa música interior. Outra das exposições inauguradas no espaço da Galeria COLORIDA que gostei mesmo muito foi o trabalho do artista brasileiro Marcio Tuller " Sonhar a Cores". E foi o brilho das cores do trabalho de Tuller que me fez apaixonar pelos seus quadros. A sua pintura possui a beleza ingénua da nossa infância que felizmente permanece na nossa idade adulta. A ternura do seu trabalho desperta em mim emoções de felicidade e optimismo e talvez a procura da criança que em mim procura sonhar a cores contra o preto e branco como únicos lados da vida. É a vida cheia de cores que Marcio Tuller nos evoca!

ReplyDeleteEveryone at Colorida Art Gallery was friendly and professional and made me feel at ease for my opening reception as well as the whole process of selecting the work, dropping it off etc. Everything was very smooth and overall a really positive experience. Everyone I spoke with was extremely professional and on the ball. They left no stone unturned and I really felt that me and my work were in good hands when dealing with the Colorida Gallery staff. I especially appreciated the social media presence that the PR team had when promoting my work and the show. It’s been a very positive experience with Colorida Art Gallery, and all in all an excellent learning/networking opportunity for me as an artist who is fairly fresh into his artistic career. I appreciate all the help and guidance the staff at Colorida Gallery gave me in the months leading up to my exhibition. Dario
ReplyDeleteThe collaboration with Colorida Art Gallery has been really excelent for my practice. The great thing about Colorida Gallery is their collaborative approach. They seem really engaged in supporting emerging artists, and have actively helped promote my exhibition, publish writing, and pointed things out that I should be involved with. Although they have helped me reach new markets and expose my practice to a wider audience. I particularly value the opportunity to reach a huge audience in collaboration with a team of professionals who truly understand the creative process of individual artists and more importantly, the need to promote art from every possible angle in an ever changing world.
