LONDON FASHION WEEK SPRING 2011- Mark Fast

Mark Fast for his Spring 2011 collection developed the main ideas behind his capsule collection Spring/Summer 2010 that the designer, known as the knitwear genius, created for Topshop and it's all about his second line of stretchy underwear and body dresses named "Faster": edgy/ sexy vibes while being thoroughly versatile. Mark Fast's work is always consistent and true to his signature look.

The Central Saint Martins grad, known for his body-conscious cobwebby knit frocks, said once "My work is about a lifestyle. It's not fast-food fashion. It's not about trends, it's about classic, it's about the body, it's about beauty." Of course we agree with Fast.

I loved the body-con knitted dresses with intricate detailing and embellishment in black, orange, red, yellow, pink and blue which gave a sexy, rebellious feel as the winner of Topshop's New Generation award use to.

I really love Mark Fast who courageously followed through on his convictions, and this in the fashion world is to be applauded. For example, against all odds he used plus-size models in his last runways when lots of people thinks it is not appropriate.

Mark Fast's work isn't obvious, he like made incendiary clothes for hot girls. Still, Fast's attraction is more in his technique—and the way he thinks of his knitting as a close cousin of hosiery rather than sweater dressing. In fact it is nothing about sweetness in his creations.
