TOP TRENDS FROM NEW YORK FASHION WEEK FALL/WINTER 2013-14

1 - Army Trousers/ calças militares




Looser than the cargo skinny of last seasons and non-denim materials/ Mais largas que as skinny cargo das estações passadas e feitas com diferentes materiais que não o denim.

2 - Boxy collared and oversized jackets/ Blusões oversized com gola abotoados ou com zip.





3 - Flannel Jumpsuits/ Jumpsuits de flanela para usar e abusar mesmo em eventos mais formais.




4 - Jeweled jackets from eveningwear to day light/ casacos com brilhos e joias incorporadas no tecido transportados do eveningwear para o dia






5 - Folk Embroidery/ bordados inspirados no folclore de tradição popular




6 - Leather sweatpants after leather leggings here it comes the leather loosy pants with elastic waist/ calças de pele largas com cintura de elástico para arrumar de vez as leggings em pele.

LONDON FASHION WEEK: MARQUES'ALMEIDA AUTUMN/WINTER 2013

All who follow this blog know that I follow the work of Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida from the start, when the pair had not yet entered the London Fashion Week - Where indeed makes sense they are - and showed their ideas in the LAB Modalisboa. I always thought how wonderful the duo played the material most democratic of all time - the denim-shredding, tearing, staining and giving us an entire argument under the trash and cool style in a perfect mix. At a time when denim seems to be forever in fashion, underwent various treatments and reinventions (as in MIU MIU), Marques'Almeida get yet another version of street wear with a sophisticated signature. With this new collection presented at London Fashion Week yesterday, the couple of young designers show that they are always evolving, now introducing the concept of eveningwear, but without losing the particular character that distinguishes them from the hundreds of young creatives who swarming London. Again, I really LOVED it.

Todos que seguem este blog sabem que acompanho o trabalho de Marta Marques e Paulo Almeida desde o inicio, quando esta dupla ainda não tinha entrado na London Fashion Week - Onde aliás faz todo o sentido estarem - e mostravam as suas ideias no LAB da Modalisboa. Sempre achei admirável a forma como a dupla interpretou o material mais democrático de todos os tempos - a ganga- desfiando, rasgando, tingindo e dando-lhe todo um argumento cool e trash ao mesmo tempo. Numa época em que este tecido que parece estar eternamente na moda, sofreu diversos tratamentos e reinvenções ( como em MIU MIU), Marques'Almeida conseguem ainda outra versão de street wear sofisticada e de assinatura. Com esta nova coleção apresentada ontem na London Fashion Week, a dupla de jovens designers mostram que estão sempre a evoluir, introduzindo agora o conceito de eveningwear, mas, sem perderem o carater particular que os distingue das centenas de jovens criativos que pululuam por Londres. Mais uma vez, ADOREI.

MARC JACOBS AW 2013: DON'T LET THE SUN GO DOWN ON ME

The Marc Jacob's show at NYFW had a enormous sun up the catwalk, increasingly the fashion shows are a kind of super-shows with a huge machine envolved and thousand of dollars to spend in a fifty minutes ephemeral perfomance who everybody talks about not over 24 hours. My question is: And what about the clothes?  
 O desfile de Marc Jacobs foi tão sensacional como é costume, um enorme sol ergueu-se na passerelle sobre os modelos, sendo que segundo testemunhos presenciais, a luz era de tal intensidade que dificultou o visionamento dos detalhes da coleção. Cada vez mais os desfiles de moda se tornam em mega-espetáculos, envolvendo uma máquina de produção enorme e recursos tecnicos gigantescos, milhares de euros para gastar numa perfomance efémera de menos de 15 minutos de que toda a gente irá falar no máximo durante 24 horas. Fica a pergunta: E então as roupas? 

 

 

The Clothes:  ’20s party girl meets ’50s housewife meets ’70s disco queen; Shorts instead of pants, which match well with the Winter and the snow days, much material to animate pajamas parties...

 

As roupas: Party girl dos anos 20 encontra a dona-de-casa dos anos 50 que encontra as rainhas do disco dos anos 70; Calções pela virilha o que dá imenso jeito nos dias de inverno, sobretudo, se nevar, muito material para festas do pijama...
