INSPIRATION: BEFORE VALENTINO

This photos were taken by Joao Lamares in my new home before the opening of Modalisboa's Close Up film sessions ( that I told you about HERE) that began with the Matt Tyrnauer's  great movie " Valentino - The Last Emperor". Soon I will published the photos I took in the event organized by Modalisboa with the support of Absolut Vodka. A small crowd of fashion designers, models, bloggers and fashionists, fashion students and people that loves fashion and films filled the Nimas theater. The Close up film sessions will be repeated once a month.   

Eis que o Joao Lamares me apanhou no jardim da nossa casa nova, a preparar-me para irmos assistir à sessão inaugural do Close up film sessions, evento (que eu já vos tinha falado AQUI) organizado pela Modalisboa com o apoio da Absolut Vodka, e que começou da melhor maneira com o fantástico filme "Valentino - O Último Imperador" do jornalista da Vanity Fair Matt Tyrnauer. Uma pequena multidão de gente ligada à moda, designers, modelos, bloggers, fashionistas, estudantes de moda, e muitos outros que simplesmente adoram moda e filmes, encheram o Cinema Nimas para uma noite bem diferente. As sessões de filmes Close Up, sempre com a abordagem da moda por tema, terão lugar uma vez por mês no Cinema Nimas.

Today Modalisboa will open the CLOSE-UP film sessions related with fashion in the Nimas theatre with the Matt Tyrnauer's movie "Valentino - The Last Emperor" presented by the Portuguese fashion designer Nuno Baltazar. Once a month Modalisboa will bring us a film about fashion topics; The next presentations will be about Vital Sassoon and Bill Cunnigham. Fashion Heroines will be there and will tell you everything about The Close-Up sessions.Keep in touch!

Hoje, Terça-feira, a Modalisboa inaugurará as sessões Close-up no cinema Nimas, a partir das 21h, com o filme "Valentino- O Último Imperador", apresentado por Nuno Baltazar. Estas sessões que estão previstas uma vez por mês, vão celebrar a relação estreita que sempre houve entre o cinema e a moda, e permitir explorar esse constante diálogo e reflexões sobre as duas disciplinas. Os apaixonados por moda terão oportunidade de conhecer melhor os seus interpretes principais que já têm lugar cativo na sua história como Vital Sassoon ou Bill Cunnigham, entre muitos outros, assim como os actuais vanguardistas e visionários em cujas mãos está o futuro da moda internacional. It was a long time since I published the last old Vogue's editorials that I found in my archive, although these editorials have more than 10 or 15 years they continue to be a great source of inspiration for me. The one that I posted here is from Vogue US July 1998, but the styling is so "now fashion"! It is the proof that fashion is not so fleeting and dated as that.

á passou algum tempo desde que publiquei o último editorial das velhinhas revistas Vogue que guardo no meu arquivo e que apesar desses editoriais terem mais de 10 ou 15 anos eles continuam a ser uma grande fonte de inspiração para mim. Este photoshoot da Vogue americana de Julho de 1998 é a prova de que a moda não é tão fugaz e datada quanto isso.
