PARIS FASHION WEEK - SACAI FALL/WINTER 2012-13
When I saw the last collection for fall/winter 2012-13 from SACAI I only could say " I want them all!" Seriously, from coats, jackets to dresses and skirts everything was great and easy to wear in the street. I really wanted so badly the lovely paisley scarf print pieces, particularly a narrowish skirt collaged with a red satin and lace slip and layered with red chiffon...
Quando vi a última colecção para o próximo Inverno da SACAI só conseguia exclamar: " Quero tudo, preciso de tudo!". A sério, desde casacos a blusões, aos vestidos e saias, todas as peças são fantásticas e apaixonei-me seriamente por uma saia de estampado vermelho escocês com cinto de tachas, numa colagem de cetim vermelho, renda e chiffon. Absolutamente extasiante!!!!
What I love the most at Sacai collection is the fresh approach of the menswear inspiration with sweet lady look likes contrasting with military details and standout classic tailoring elements in a sexy and unique mix.
O que mais adorei na colecção foi essa aproximação repleta de frescura aos clichés do guarda-roupa masculino e da alfaiataria, com elementos clássicos e um suave estilo quer lady like quer boémio e dandy, "endurecido" pelos detalhes da estética militar, traduzindo-se numa combinação sexy e unica.
The coolness of it it's a great point and when I saw look after look it seemed to me that I was seeing the most beautiful and modern street style garments with a conceptual twist that I want to get in my fashion dreams. And it works in the real life too.
Mais cool não podia ser! E look após look senti que estava a olhar para roupa absolutamente maravilhosa que pode perfeitamente ser trazida para a rua mas com aquele twist conceptual presente nos meus melhores fashion dreams! E tudo funciona perfeitamente numa desconstrução do clássico trazido para a contemporaneidade.

REI KAWAKUBO/COMMES DES GARÇONS FW 2012-13 - A GREAT TRIBUTE TO LEIGH BOWERY
Rei Kawakubo's last show is clearly a tribute to the legendary artist and performer Leigh Bowery and his kitsch aesthetic – the masks on the flower ensembles confirmed that it. Comme des Garçons coats/dresses could fit marvellously in an imaginary Taboo, or be worn on stage by the dancers Bowery. Comme des Garçons‘ show was a filtered, prettified version of the clownesque Bowery style. Rei made a subtly balanced of the shapes' bulkiness, so characteristic of Bowery, with the apparent lightness of her fabrics which seems to be made of paper.
Rei is not selling clothes, she is selling an alternative dream universe in which Leigh Bowery is still performing somewhere, in which freedom, randomness and balance in the unbalanced are the definition of style, in which ugliness is something to make a statement with.

O último desfile de Rei Kawakubo foi claramente uma homenagem ao legendário artista e performer Leigh Bowery e a sua estética kitsch - as máscaras de flores usadas pelas modelos confirma-no. Os casacos e vestidos de Comme des Garçons Outono/Inverno 2012-13 ficariam maravilhosamente no imaginário de Taboo, ou perfeitos para serem usados no palco pelos dançarinos de Bowery. Este desfile foi, assim, uma versão estilizada e embelezada do estilo 'clown' de Bowery. rei soube de forma maravilhosa fazer o equilibrio entre o estremo volume das formas, tão caracteristico de Bowery, com a leveza dos tecidos que aparentam papel.
Rei não está vendendo roupa, ela está a vender um universo sonial alternativo no qual Leigh Bowery continua a representar algures, no qual a liberdade, aleatoriedade e equilibrio no desequilibrio são a definição de estilo, no qual a fealdade é algo com que se fabrica uma afirmação.

Leigh Bowery ( 1961 –1994) was an Australian performance artist, club promoter, actor, pop star, model and fashion designer, based in London. Bowery is considered one of the more influential figures in the 1980s and 1990s London and New York art and fashion circles influencing a generation of artists and designers. His influence reached through the fashion, club and art worlds to impact, amongst others, Meadham Kirchhoff, Alexander McQueen, Lucian Freud, Vivienne Westwood, Boy George, Antony and the Johnsons, John Galliano, the Scissor Sisters, David LaChapelle, Lady Bunny, and more recently Lady Gaga, plus numerous Nu-Rave bands and nightclubs in London and New York which arguably perpetuated his avant garde ideas. Leigh Bowery, peripheral in the notion of art practice by combining dandyism and body art, reconstructed his image while performing. Bowery uses the expression of the 'other' to create a form of cultural lip-syncing transvestism.

Bowery é considerado uma das mais influentes figuras nas décadas de 80 e 90 em Londres e Nova Iorque, sobretudo nos circulos da moda e da arte que influenciou toda uma geração de artistas e designers. A sua influência teve impacto em designers e artistas tão diferentes como Kirchhoff, Alexander McQueen, Lucian Freud, Vivienne Westwood, Boy George, Antony and the Johnsons, John Galliano, the Scissor Sisters, David LaChapelle, Lady Bunny e mais recentemente lady Gaga. Assim como em bandas Nu-Rave e night clubs naquelas duas cidades que perpetuaram as suas ideias avant-gard. Leigh Bowery combinou a prática da arte com dandaismo e body art, recriando a sua própria imagem enquanto actuava. Bowery usou a expressão do "outro" para criar uma original arte de travestismo.
