I think one day people will discover that insanely good ideas from the recently past had gone, and then people will try harder to create something radically different. Yes, I'm a hopefull person and I totally disagree about the impossibility to create something new. Internet and all that technological stuff made the Past more closer than ever, but this kind of things can't make impossible to look forward in the way of a new future. We must stop to copy, remix and layered, interwoven and tangled  ideas from the recent past. We became so lazy and our minds are so full of past references and amazing creations that we think everything was already done. New generations can't be stucked by the fantastic "new" ideas from their grand-parents and parents Era. These ideas are not new anymore, we need others, we need to invent the future and the ideas to come. Stop scream and regret that everything was already invented. I don't belive that! It's easier to think so, to be linked with youtube, wikipedia and googled to have free access to the great creations from the past and re-invented them. People who created these great ideas worked hard, day-and-night, all their lives, to make you belive that inspiration is something easy and spontaneous. But it is not, inspiration took time, hard work and lots of experience.

Look at these images above, they are from the 60's and good examples of what fashion designers are doing now, directly attached by them. The 60's are completely sold out, and I can't stand more 50's and 60's (or 70's or 80's even 90's) re-inventions. I'm hungry for new things. I'm bored!

Penso que um dia as pessoas descobrirão que as boas ideias do passado se foram de vez. Só então, delas libertadas as pessoas tentarão com afinco criar as suas próprias boas ideias e a partir daí criarem algo de radicalmente diferente. Sim, sou uma pessoa com esperança e não concordo absolutamente com a impossibilidade de criar "novo". Isto só é possível se os criadores deixarem os arquivos em paz e encerrarem o capitulo "passado" e a moda da re-invenção e do remix que a internet veio facilitar demais. O youtube, wikipedia e googlar em geral tornou o passado mais próximo do presente do que alguma vez foi possivel, fazendo parecer inviável olhar o futuro com novos olhos, presos que estão ao fabuloso reino do passado. Temos que parar de copiar, fazer remix, misturar, e dar de novo as ideias que já foram inventadas por génios que idolatramos ( e com razão, sem dúvida). Tornamo-nos preguiçosos e enchemos as nossas mentes de fantásticas "novas" ideias já inventadas pelos nossos avós e pais. As novas gerações têm que se libertar do fantasma do passado perfeito e ideal onde tudo já foi inventado. As novas gerações só têm que fazer o que lhes estás destinado - inventar o futuro e os seus caminhos! Para isso têm que parar de gritar e de lamentar "porque já tudo foi inventado". Não acredito nisso. Claro que é mais fácil ligarmo-nos ao youtube, wikipédia, ipod, itunes... e com livre acesso às geniais ideias do passado, fazer delas a nossa base de trabalho a que toscamente chamamos "inspirarmo-nos em". Os autores dessas ideias "perfeitas" trabalharam muito, dia e noite, a vida toda para nos fazer crer que a inspiração é algo fácil e espontaneo. Mas, não é. A inspiração leva tempo, muito trabalho duro e necessita de muita experiência.

As imagens que vos trago neste post são só meros exemplos de como os anos 60 e neste caso a Space Age, são o ponto de partida para tudo o que se apresenta nas semanas da moda, de Nova Iorque a Paris, passando por Londres e Milão. Pois, para mim os anos 60 estão conmpletamente esgotados (diria o mesmo dos anos 50, 70, 80 e até 90). Também há muito lixo produzido no passado, e as ideias geniais "vintage" estão à beira de um ataque de nervos! Ou então, estou eu... absolutamente, entediada!!!! Tenho fome de coisas novas.

LONDON FASHION WEEK F/W 2012-13: LINKED WITH BRIGHT COLORFUL VIBES

London Fashion Week is one of the boldest of the main circuit, and this one for Fall/Winter 2012-13 is no exception. With roots in punk and high fashion, the cult menswear label Sister by Sibling (pics above) brought to London the craziest show we've seen this season. But there was much more insanely bright and colourful shows that you ever thought...

A semana da moda de Londres é uma das mais atrevidas do circuito principal das FW, e esta que está a decorrer para o Outono/Inverno 2012-13 não é excepção. Se há coisa que jamais podemos dizer dos desfiles de Londres é que eles são monótonos ou aborrecidos, tal é a variedade de estilos e tendências que são geradas por m2, numa das minhas cidades europeias favoritas e mais inspiradoras. Com raízes no punk e na high fashion, a marca de culto de roupa de homem que recentemente se aventurou na criação de peças para nós girls, sobretudo knitwear, Sister by Sibling (Imagens acima), trouxe a Londres um dos mais loucos desfiles que vimos esta estação. Mas, a brilhante e colorida insanidade dos desfiles londrinos não se ficou por aqui...


For example Louise Gray Louise’s show has become one of the highlights of Fashion Week with London’s coolest kids always sat front row wearing her pieces and a collection that’s guaranteed to be a riot of colour, print and embellishment. Gray's motto will be Fashion for fun ever! (pics below).

Por exemplo, Louise Gray tornou-se num dos desfiles mais aguardados da semana da moda de Londres, com os miúdos mais cool do planeta sentados na fila da frente, usando peças das suas colecções, garantindo um verdadeiro festival de cor e padrões. O mote de Louise Gray será sempre fashion for fun!

For instances Peter Pilotto Fall/Winter 2012-13 collection plays also with colors and patterns but in a much more refined way, not so subversive and rebel as the labels I talked before. I love everything from the star spangled puffa jackets to the incredible Nicholas Kirkwood shoes, from those razor-sharp printed trousers to that incredible peplum full-length printed gown. This season, Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos drew inspiration from Asian subcultures, and their signature digital prints were influenced by images of Japanese trucks and Chinese opera masks.

A colecção de Peter Pilotto Outono/Inverno 2012-13 também é um jogo de cores e padrões mas de uma forma mais requintada e menos subversiva e rebelde que as labels anteriores. Adorei cada peça desde os casacos de lantejolas estilo puff aos incriveis sapatos de Nicholas Kirkwood (love, love, love...) às calças com padrões fantásticos e ao vestido de cocktail comprido igualmente com um padrão de morrer. Esta estação, Peter Pilotto e Christopher de Vos foram buscar inspiração às subculturas asiáticas, recorrendo aos prints digitais que são a sua assinatura, influenciados por imagens japonesas impressas nos camiões e ás máscaras chinesas usadas na opera.

INSPIRATION: HELLS ANGELS & HOT LADIES ON ICE

Bill Ray was a staff photographer for Life magazine, based in New York, Beverly Hills, and Paris. From these bureaus he traveled the world covering major events, wars, and great personalities. Ray photographed the Hell Angels - The Kings of the Road, in 1965, and these shoots inspired me all the time. Behind the hard aesthetic remixed several times until today to give it a more polished modern touch, it was the pure sense of freedom that caught my attention, and really inspires me.  

Bill Ray foi um fotografo pertencente ao staff da Life magazine, estabelecido em Nova Iorque, Beverly Hills e Paris. Partindo desses escritórios, ele viajou por todo o mundo cobrindo os maiores eventos da época, guerras e fotografando grandes personalidades. Um dos meus trabalhos favoritos de Ray foi esta série de fotografias que ele tirou aos Hell Angels - Os Reis da Estrada, em 1965. Estes shoots inspiram-me sempre, mais pela sensação de liberdade que eles evocam do que pela estética "hard" que tem vindo a sofrer vários remix ao longo da história da moda, no sentido de lhes conferir um ar mais polido e moderno e menos "dirty".

LONDON FASHIN WEEK: TOPSHOP UNIQUE F/W 2012-13

Topshop is one of the fast fashion labels that better understand the link between something edgy but accessible. The khaki officer's coat that opened the show at the London Fashion Week is an example of that link. Unfortunately Topshop has no interest in the Portuguese market but you have always the online shop, and of course go to London in a next weekend fly.   

Topshop é uma das marcas de fast fashion que mais ligações apresenta entre algo criativo e edge a preços acessíveis. O casaco militar em caqui que ontem abriu o desfile na semana da moda de Londres é disso um exemplo. Infelizmente, a Topshop parece não ter nenhum interesse no mercado português, mas, temos sempre a loja online ou apanharmos um próximo voo de fim-de-semana até Londres.

LONDON FASHION WEEK: MOSCHINO CHEAP AND CHIC F/W 2012-13

The cute Italian Label Mochino Cheap and Chic's ADN perfectly matches  with the London Fashion Week vibes, and this Fall/Winter 2012-13 collection was the proof. A modern and funky version of the ladies 50's wardrobe with patchwork laced dresses, rainbow fur, and candy-bright pleated chiffons. "Make Up Your Life" because times are hard so fashion is the better way to you have some fun! This is the motto remains for us to follow it and have a good play with our clothes.



 

LONDON FASHION WEEK: HOUSE of HOLLAND F/W 2012-13

A kind of energetic collection in strong block colors pieces and bright stripe zigzag pattern summarizes what I liked the most in this House of Holland Fall/Winter 2012-13 collection presented yesterday at London Fashion Week. The coolest youth version of the modern London style but a bit repeated in my opinion.
