Red is in the altar of fashion again with its majestic appearance giving vibrant vibes to the New York Fashion Week's catwalks. Roses are red, and red is the colour of the tortured lovers. Red is the passion's home but also tragic, subversive and outrageous.  

O vermelho está , novamente, no altar da moda com a sua majestosa aparência, trazendo vibrantes nuances aos desfiles da Semana da Moda de Nova Iorque. As rosas são vermelhas, e vermelho é a cor dos amores torturados. Vermelho é o lar da paixão, mas, também trágico, subversivo e escandaloso.

The next fall will be courted by bloody red as the streets will be a scenery of a Shakespeare's tragedy. Red is like a drug, the most physic colour on the block. Red is fire, fever, blood... red will be in all blasphemous bodies of the urban goddesses.


But..


Then, the arcane green appeared to build de most poisonous portion of the fashion world: RED PLUS GREEN. The most symbolic colour on the block - GREEN!

O próximo outono será cortejado pelo vermelho sangue e as ruas vestir-se-ão como se fossem um cenário de uma tragédia de Skakespeare. O vermelho é como o opium, a cor mais fisica do universo. O vermelho é fogo, febre, sangue... o vermelho estará em todos os corpos blasfémicos das deusas urbanas.

Mas,

Depois aparece o secreto verde para fabricar o mais venenoso de todos os venenos do mundo da moda: VERMELHO MAIS VERDE.

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK: ALEXANDER WANG FALL/WINTER 2012-13

Alexander Wang Fall/Winter 2012-13 collection is really something! This is my first love-at-first-sight at the current NYFW. As I saw it in Style.com I felt in passion with the glossy and seamless leathers, and suede pants and coats with waxed panels.  The fishnet turtlenecks pulled up over models' faces will be something that we will see in many fashion editorials for Winter. The Pelican bags in vachetta leather are amazing, and that white one of the pic above is my fave. Expensive but cool clothes which were part of my dream wardrobe.

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK: LACOSTE FALL/WINTER 2012-13

Filipe Oliveira Baptista was inspired by the retro vibes of old Lacoste's archives like the pictures of a 1930s mountain motoring expedition and the the uniforms Lacoste designed for the French national team in 1966. I loved the white long dress (pic n.º 7). A collection dominated by the chic sport silhouette that runs Lacoste to the urban fields.

I loved Thakoon's Fall 2012 collection, mainly the colorful looks like a Audrey Hepburn's neon version in red, fuchsia, and raspberry.

Adorei a colecção de Thakoon Outono 2012, sobretudo os looks coloridos numa versão neon de Audrey Hepburn a vermelho, fuchsia e fambroesa.

INSPIRATION: Dying is not something you do to a cat!

Dying is not something you do to a cat. What can a poor cat do in an empty alley? Touching itself in the walls? Pee on the grafittes to crop territory? Apparently nothing has changed and yet everything is changing. The same things are in the same places but there is a different smell, the smell of nobody-is-there, and same yellow light covering the stones of severe jaundice. You can hear the footsteps on the stairs, but they are not the same steps; only the dirty and narrow stairs are really the same. The hand that throws the milk is not the same, something that isn't real ... And yet everything happens as before, but not the way it should.


The world of cats is small and always an affair with the little spoiled gestures, made of domestic routines, mops and brooms. There is nothing to do except sleep and wait... that the little world happens with the usual poppycock.

All the prohibitions were overcome: Don’t arrive at dusk, not pee on the neighbor’s terrace, not meowing under the yellow lamp, and mainly don’t sharpen the claws on the clothes drying at the windows. But what else a cat could do when everything changed the way they use to be?

When she returns she will see, she will see when she comes! She will find out that this is not something you do to a cat. Walk toward her with a vexed mood, slowly with grumpy paws. And no jumps or meows nor caresses. At least in the beginning. You''ll see.

Morrer não é coisa que se faça a um gato. Que há-de um gato fazer numa viela vazia? Rocar-se nas paredes? Mijar para os grafittes a marcar território? Aparentemente nada mudou e, no entanto está tudo mudado.Continua tudo no seu lugar, estando tudo fora do sítio.O candeeiro a debitar a mesma luz amarelada, cobrindo as pedras de ictericia grave. Ouvem-se passos nas escadas, mas, não são os mesmos passos. Não mais aquele cheiro a pele tisnada, a mão que deita o leite não é a mesma, há aqui qualquer coisa que já não acontece...E todavia acontece tudo como antes, mas, não da forma que devia.
O  mundo dos gatos é pequeno e comezinho, feito de rotinas, esfregões e vassouras. Não há o que fazer é dormir e esperar que o pequeno mundo aconteça há hora do costume.

Violaram-se todas as proibições: não chegar ao anoitecer, não mijar na varanda do vizinho, não miar debaixo do candeeiro das coisas amareladas, não afiar as garras na roupa estendida. Mas, que mais há-de um gato fazer se nada mudou mas na casa está um frio de bréu?

Quando ela regressar, ela vai ver, ela vai ver quando chegar.Vai ficar a saber que isto não é coisa que se faça a um gato. Caminhar-se-à em direcção a ela como contrariado, devagarinho com as patas amuadas. E nada de saltos ou de mios. Pelo menos ao princípio.

INSPIRATION: OLD LISBON'S STYLE BY ME

How many crimes, what passionate kisses, and despair? How many non matched loves  ... how may tears? How many hopes, and deceptions? How many smiles ending the age of innocence? How many lives in these alleys and narrow streets were born and died without knowing the vastness of the horizon, and the fresh light without walls to immure the free feelings!

Quantos crimes, ou beijos apaixonados e desespero? Quantos amores não correspondidos... quantas lágrimas? Quantas esperanças e desilusões? Quantos sorrisos selando o fim da idade da inocência? Quantos vidas nestes becos e vielas nasceram e morreram desconhecendo a vastidão do horizonte, e a sua luz fresca sem paredes estreitas a imunizar os sentimentos livres?



INSPIRATION: (OLD) LISBON

I'm always in love with old Lisbon, and I'm never tired to take photos of it. The light is really incredible, a unique version of a urban Sun even if you are before ruins or empty houses. Its decay inspires me so much!

Dizem que uma paixão não pode durar mais do que uns meses, mas, há paixões eternas e para o provar aqui está a minha paixão por Lisboa antiga que dura desde que visitei esta cidade pela primeira vez na minha infância. Jamais me canso de tirar fotos e fotos e fotos que podem ser sempre aos mesmos lugares, mas, que nunca se repetem porque a luz única desta cidade faz com que cada lugar tenha mil caras. Aqui o Sol tem uma versão bem urbana e decadente quando incide nos prédios em ruinas ou muito velhos e devolutos. E esta decadência imspira-me!

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK FALL/WINTER 2012-13 - JASON WU

NY fashion week's madness started and Jason Wu was the first one to catch my eyes with his "In The Mood for Love" dresses. In fact Jason's collection reminded me immediately the Wong Kar-wai's movie and its gorgeous wardrobe.

Ainda mal começou a loucura da Semana da Moda de Nova Iorque e já Jason Wu nos chamou a atenção com os seus vestidos tipo "In The Mood for Love". De facto, a colecção de Jason remeteu-nos directamente para o extraordinário guarda-roupa do filme de Wong Kar-Wai, um dos meus favoritos no que se refere à estética e ao estilo.

Jason Wu was inspired by Empire of the Sun's vibes with lot of references from military details mix with China of the Qing Dynasty and Mao's aesthetic. This blend plenty of opulent embroideries and clean cut Mao jackets, army green and red palette of the sportswear gave an exotic effect pretty like a the thirties and forties Hollywood version of China.

Jason Wu foi inspirado pelo "Império do Sol", referencias militares, vibrações da era da Dinastia Qing e da estética do periodo de Mao Tse Tung . Esta mistura louca que dá lugar à opulência dos bordados misturado com os cortes clean dos casacos Mao, o verde tropa e a palete vermelha tipica do sportswear, tem um efeito algo exótico como uma versão "inautêntica" da China dada pelos anos 30 e 40 de Hollywood. 

You cannot like the Jason Wu's proposals for the next cold season, but this collection is something completely different from what Wu used to give to his fans.

Goste-se ou não das propostas de Jason Wu para a próxima estação fria, o certo é que esta colecção é algo completamente diferente daquilo que Wu nos habituou.
