TRENDS REPORT: SPRING SUMMER 2011

 MIXED AND MIXED AGAIN!

Prada, Missoni, Diane Von Furstenberg, Custo Barcelona, D&G SS2011

Next Spring Summer get some imagination and mix prints all over your look! No need to make sense to work!

SHEER - SHOWING BUT NOT TOO MUCH!

Rodarte, Rag & Bone, Thakoon, Jean Paul Gaultier, Jason Wu, Richard Chai Love SS 2011

Another great trend for next Spring 2011 which we saw in Fashion Weeks, all over the collections, was sheer! Sheer clothing matches with lingerie wearing as outerwear. It's romantic and elegant without seeing too much skin, I really loved the lady like blouses in sheer with laces.

LEATHER CLOTHES - TOPS, SKIRTS, DRESSES, TRENCH-COATS...

Burberry Prorsum, Celine, Akris, Blumarine, Hakaan, Richard Nicoll SS 2011

It's not only in bomber jackets, leather crossed the traditional clothes to rush unconventional pieces as tops, skirts, dresses... perhaps it's not the most appropriate stuff to hot Summers in the South climate but certainly leather is one of the coolest and sexiest raw materials we can wear.

STELLA McCARTNEY SPRING SUMMER 2011

First were bananas at Prada now lemons and grapefruit at Stella McCartney Spring Summer 2011 collection. Are fruit a new obsession to Fashion World? Fruit and flowers it's for sure.

I think the silk dress in citrus print might be the dress of the Season and it will be made "copy past" of it all over the fast fashion stores. We will see...

I really love Stella's work because she knows very well how to do easily chic pieces which we can dressed at the office and in the beach, and we can wear them and turn to again and again.

... and of course the smart tailoring a Stella McCartney's signature.

LUIS BUCHINHO SPRING SUMMER 2011

Luis Buchinho showed his Spring/Summer 2011 collection in the second day of Paris Fashion Week at the famed Lycée Henri IV in Just north of Paris’ Latin quarter at the top of the Mont Sainte Geneviève.

Buchinho is one of my favorite Portuguese fashion designers in part because of his understanding of elegance and femininity in a reinterpretation of the classical notion of style giving it a very modern and urban touch.

What I loved most in his Spring Summer 2011 collection was the soft colors of the palette chosen by the designer which are in the mood what we saw mostly in New York recently catwalks – the nude, the soft grey, creamy whites ...

Inspired by a soft African landscape each piece plays with texture, movement and asymmetry. Organic materials (washed silks, cotton tweeds, smooth and soft leathers), that feel good on the skin flowed easily and giving a seductive wearability.

It was really elegant to see the models sashayed down the runway in feminine heels occasionally tufted with fur. Also the use of lights and darks, and the soft folds that were hung asymmetrically give a freedom to the female body while the femininity remains intact. Luis Buchinho knows so well what women want: freedom, comfort, elegance and seduction if impossible in the same piece. Is it this female wish an unachievable illusion? Luis Buchinho said it was possible to pleasant women and I agree.

Luis Buchinho's ideas were all about bodies in motion with a modern, urban chic look that reminded me Lanvin's of Alber Elbaz latest collections in which each women is learning how to become a Greek goddess.

JOHN GALLIANO SPRING SUMMER 2011 WOMENSWEAR

PARIS, some minutes ago... John Galliano showed his own label's Spring Summer 2011 collection.

Galliano's collections for his own label are often created as fanciful interpretations rooted in historical, regional, or pop culture themes. He's is known for his theatricality, and his unparalleled mastery in bias-cut dressmaking techniques.

... And theatricality it is!

John Galliano, each new collection, reminds everyone how unique an experience a great show can be...

I really loved the poetically glamorous of Galliano's signature and the mix of different cultures and times, the East and the West, North and South, the old and new, the Past and the Future... and this collection is all about all this: Decadent romantic experience with a sensuously touch... this is Galliano's hallucinogenic designs.
